These posters were originally supposed to be screenprinted, but the result of making them on craft paper from a normal laser printer looked good enough to forget about the paint. And instead of the white outlines being a slight coat of paint, we manually drew the lines with an oil stick pastel – making every poster an original piece.

After hearing the three bands on the bill (Kingdom Shore, Plaza Musique, City of a Hundred Spires) and realizing that they had a completely different approach to music making (powering string pieces, lounge pop fuzz, long building instrumentals) it became hard to find one aesthetic that would be able to fuse everything together.

The solution was introducing visual elements in the poster (when tiled next to each other) that would bleed from one poster to another, physically introducing (forcing) the idea of “connection”. At first only the right side bled onto the left of the next poster, but the client suggested trying to make all 4 corners bleed into each other.
